06 - Artist Interviews - Ashley Cullen - Paint in a way that responds to your truth

Excited to be sharing this weeks Born to Create Podcast Artist Interview:

"Ashley Cullen is an Australian based emerging artist who moved to Canberra to pursue her love of art at the Australian National University. She is a recent graduate with a Bachelor of Visual Art in Painting and Art History and a Bachelor of Art in Literature and Ancient History. Her portraits chart an intensely charged vision of the human experience, capturing people at their most raw and vulnerable moments."

I am in awe with her work it reminds me of Francis Bacon, Lucien Freud and Jenny Saville! Some of my favourite artists!
Though there is no comparison, her work is unique and I was drawn to it the moment I saw it!

Her slight wild and raw portraits, a bit messy and raw is very expressive and emotive it has me watch her paintings for a long time!

I am so excited to have her on the show, she is very intelligent and sweet and wise as it communicates through her art... I enjoyed speaking with her and picking her brains on her views on art, creativity and living abroad, which I can very much relate to

:)

It will air tomorrow! Until then, check out her beautiful art on her website and on instagram you can find her as @ashleyculle.n
